Geisha House Brings More than Sushi and Sake to Uptown Dining Scene
New Japanese Grill and Tokyo Tavern to open in Uptown hotspot with a humble attitude and an authentic vision
DALLAS, TEXAS (July 16, 2009)—Chef /owner, Michael Ma, of Benihana and Geisha House (Plano), has partnered with Saki Sommelier, Aron Arsen to create an imaginative take on Japanese cuisine, sushi, and nightlife; bringing The Geisha House to the heart of Dallas. The Geisha House will offer affordable and authentic chef-driven Teppanyaki, Sushi, and Contemporary Japanese-Fusion menus, in an environment that is both invigorating and inviting. The Geisha House will open their doors to Dallas on July 21.
The Geisha House offers a variety of Japanese Fusion dishes, Teppan Grill selections; and, authentic sushi offerings. The space boasts six Teppan Grills (the most in Dallas), private dining rooms such as The Tanami Room, an inviting space enclosed by Japanese Shoji Screens, featuring a table that welcomes 12-14, and appears to be suspended in air; as well as a sleek sushi bar in the center of the space that accommodates up to 12 guests.
See and be seen on The Geisha House’s specious patio, overlooking the heart of Uptown, Cedar Springs Avenue; or, retreat to The Roppongi Bar, an extension of The Geisha House and Ma’s take on the famous Tokyo Taverns. Sultry music will spin; specialty cocktails, including the Geisha Saketini, a mix of Grey Goose Citron, Gekkeikan Sake, Cucumber Mint and Lemon will flow; and, the Geisha House menu will be served, until 2am nightly.
When asked about Michael’s specialty, Aron Arsen, Michael Ma’s right hand man and Sake architect says, “Michael’s passion is Teppanyaki. That’s how he got his start”. Aron’s specialty is sake The Level 2 Sake Sommelier, who help develop the Sake program for Kenichi Dallas explains, “Our modest, yet artisan-style Sake program was hand picked to not only help the novice Sake drinker develop their palate; but, to allow the most discriminating Sake lover truly experience the joy of Sake pairing”. The guest has 42 to choose from.
Designed by Plan B, The Geisha House has brought their space to life with warm, neutral colors; innovative lighting; clean lines; and, creativity.
